Nice heady fragrance, very heavy on the rose however and longevity is only about 3hrs. Still a lovely scent when dries down.

I haven’t smelled the original, but this stuff is strong. This last all-day long. It’s a good scent, but I don’t love it. First, the opening is somewhat harsh, but that last only about 1-2 minutes. Then you get lots of amber, vanilla, and the bergamot, which is very nice. After that it turns into a thick amber scent, which is also nice. The problem is after about an hour you get the base notes of the fragrance which are Tonka, amber, and vanilla. However, these base notes last for hours upon hours. I tried to wash this stuff off three times, and it stayed on my skin. After a while this scent became cloying and gave me a headache.

Very nice woody fragrance with a strong note of myrrh in the dry down. Does not project well nor is it long lasting. A bit disappointing.

I compared a vintage original with the pp version. To me VV is an ultragreen chypre. That is not what PP delivers - more of a fougere kind of scent, with some dark green aspects. I think you can do better than this pp...

Don´t know why i bought this one, maybe the curiosity of the internet reviews (just two principal notes, leather and vetiver) and i might say that this "old european castle" in a bottle is the most complex fragrances that i own. More an experience than a satisfactory fragrance.
